We are a Community School!

My name is Tashon Smallwood, and I was born and raised in southwest Fresno, California. I grew up in the Fresno Unified School District attending West Fresno Elementary, Heaton, King, Ayer, and Gaston (formally known as 'Carver'). I graduated from Central East High School and earned a BA in social work and human/family development from Arizona State University.

 

I am thrilled to be serving as the Community School Coordinator at Thomas Elementary, in the very same school district where I grew up. This role allows me to combine my passions, work, and life experiences for the development of my community through the FUSD school system.

 

My goal in this role is not simply coordinating good acts of service. But to coordinate both programs/services and develop community partnerships in a way that will foster historic change in our community.
